Working on reception at Three Rivers Medical is a bit like managing traffic . . . you need to get the right people to the right places in a timely manner and make sure there are no crashes.
“It certainly keeps you on your toes,” says medical receptionist Katrina Worsnop. “But we do get some pretty sick people coming in so, as well as making sure things are running smoothly, you have to know where to prioritise.”
Between them, Katrina and her teammates share the workload of administration, juggling the phones and being the “faces” of Three Rivers at the busy reception desk.
In achieving that, Katrina says her experience in sales, and more recently in medical administration, has given her both the people-skills and know-how to get the job done.
And she believes that being a mother of two young boys has also helped her become an effective multi-tasker.
Having joined Three Rivers in early 2019, Katrina is one of the newer team members and says she saw the role as a great opportunity to use her mix of skills.
“I really enjoy working with the public and working here means you can support them in a meaningful way,” she says.
“It can be super-hectic so it's great to be able to help make things runs smoothly so people have the best experience possible.”
