Dr Katharina Morf
“We enjoyed New Zealand a lot and so decided to come over for at least one year,” says Dr Morf, who didn’t actually visit the Gisborne area first time round.
“Somewhere off the main highways in the North Island seemed appropriate so we could live and work amongst different cultures. And as we have no ocean in Switzerland we wanted to be by the sea! So Gisborne fulfilled all our criteria and still does very much so!“
Dr Morf comes from Kanton Glarus, a province of 40,000 near the centre of Switzerland. The rural area is surrounded by high mountains, narrow valleys and gorgeous lakes.
Dr Morf’s partner and their 12-year-old daughter have joined her in Gisborne. When not working, the family enjoys skiing, tramping, cycling and exploring new places. They’re looking forward to the Gisborne summer finally arriving, getting to know more of the East Cape, and trying local outdoor activities.
Three Rivers Medical welcomes Dr Katharina Morf.
